Round of 32
#12 Seed: The 2003/04 Wildcats road a 13-3 SEC record to a number 1 dance seed. A solid if not spectacular 1 seed, these Wildcats fell to a #9 seeded Alabama Birmingham 76-75 after a near miss by Gerald Fitch and near tip by Kelenna Azubuike. The Wildcats were competitive if unspectacular all season, with a weakness in ball control in comparison to other top teams of the 2002 - 2011 digital decade.  The 03/04 Wildcats came roaring back the following campaign, losing to Michigan State in a memorable Elite 8 matchup decided in overtime, the 3rd of 3 overtime games that memorable weekend.
