#10 Seed: The 2008/09 Memphis Tigers were one of the great dominant defensive unit of the first digital decade!   A dominant front line hid some serious shooting issues this team demonstrated over the campaign. With Tyreke Evans leading the way, John Calipari's squad ran the CUSA schedule on their way to a 27 game winning streak. They put it all together to become a #2 dance seed, a bracket slot many in the media questioned.  John Calipari fully leveraged the #2 seed to motivate his Tigers, putting a big chip on their shoulder minutes after the Selection Sunday announcement. .  A high scoring Missouri team took this Memphis Tiger team out of the dance earlier than anticipated, sending Evans into the NBA draft in the process.
