#6 Seed: The 2007/08 UCLA Bruins brought back a degree of magic which had been missing from Westwood campus for over a decade.  Their roster consisted of a number of NBA players, most notably freshman center Kevin Love, who made an immediate impact at the center position.  Coach Ben Howland relied on Darren Collison and Russell Westbrook in the backcourt, and a deep array of highly skilled role players, to match up against any team in CBB that season.  These Bruins had the misfortune of running into a Memphis Tiger squad, led by future NBA MVP Derrick Rose, right when Cal's Tigers were peaking.  The Bruins were the the 1st of the 4 number one seeds to exit at the Final Four in the semifinals of that particularly-historic CBB campaign.
