Round of 16
#7 Seed: Coach Steve Fischer and his 2010/11 San Diego State Aztecs lost to only 2 teams during the regular season, on their way to a 34-3 overall record.  SDSU's Kahwi Leonard garnered most of the press ink and team honors, being aided by frontline player Malcolm Thomas and backcourt mate D.J. Gay.  Fischer leveraged a deep bench to wear down opponents, and was up by 4 over UConn late into their sweet 16 matchup.  Kemba Walker stepped up for UConn at crunch time, putting up 36 points in the process, to send the Aztecs packing.  A great season for a SDSU ball program that continues to ride high out West, with the Aztecs now-regular invitees of the March classic.
