#2 Seed: The Gary-Williams led 2001/02 Maryland Terrapins electrified their fans with a season for the ages.  With Juan Dixon and Steve Blake handling the ball, these Terps were dangerous all over the court.  Frontline  players Lenny Baxter and Chris Wilcox cleaned the boards when they weren't hitting high percentage shots.  The 2001/02 Terps made one of the stronger March championship runs of the first digital decade, never being seriously threatened in the process.  Fans literally sung the praises of hyper active coach Williams, who had his own down-home song written and played in his honor.   Williams high energy and persistence led the program beyond the dark days of the Bias tragedy and into the glorious realm of National Champions.
