#1 Seed: The 2009/10 Duke Blue Devils needed every point and every second they could muster to win the men's National Championship.  Led by ACC co-player of the year Jon Scheyer and versatile guard Nolan Smith, this Duke team showed a combination of poise and resilience rare for any college team in any sport. During the Devils March dance, Duke managed to play and win in extremely hostile arenas such as Dallas (Baylor) and Indianapolis (Butler).  Center Brian Zoubek took charge and charges at a number of critical tournament junctures, while forward Kyle Singler took home the tournament's MVP award. A near miss of a half court launch at the buzzer by Butler's Gordon Hayward proved basketball to be the true game of inches, barely clanging off for Butlers first loss in 26 games. The 2009/10 Duke Blue Devils will be remembered as a group of hard working kids who achieved their full potential by playing together within Coach K's system of defined team roles.
